SBM & Co is the husband and wife partnership of Stephen and Pauline McAlpine. The firm was established in 1993. Stephen and Pauline are Chartered Accountants with a wealth of experience between them. The firm provides a wide range of services in the areas of accountancy, assurance, taxation, training and professional development. We are Registered Auditors.

PAULINE B MCALPINE BA, FCA

Pauline is a Chartered Accountant with a strong background in practice. She was a partner in a medium sized practice in the West End of London for 14 years, with responsibilities for both Audit Compliance and professional training.

Pauline has a broad portfolio of accountancy and taxation clients.

Pauline is Chair of Governors of a local primary school and is involved in the local community. In between looking after daughters, husband and clients she enjoys walks with Ginny the cocker spaniel.

STEPHEN MCALPINE BA (Econ) FCA

Stephen McAlpine is a Chartered Accountant with considerable practical and training experience. He has been responsible for accountancy training to a variety of organisations, including open courses; ranging from small businesses to major quoted companies.

Stephen had almost ten years experience as senior audit manager, with special responsibility for training, in two medium size firms of Chartered Accountants before setting up SBM & Co

Stephen is responsible for the firm’s assurance, training and professional development services. He acts as external reviewer to a number of firms, providing a range of technical support services. Stephen also maintains portfolio of audit and accountancy clients.

Stephen is a governor of a leading secondary school in the London Borough of Lambeth. He divides his spare time between family, with two teenage daughters, and his football team.
